Can you just picture this room in a cottage over looking the beach? Yum. This is my interpretation of this: (Think beach cottage in winter...)
It's nearly a one layer, Ardyth...but not quite. So alas, no OWL challenge for this one. The base is some kraft from Gina K. onto which I schmeared some Studio G pigment ink. The stamps are all from My Cute Stamps. The snowflakes were stamped with PTI Aqua Mist, and the sentiment with VersaColor Sand Beige. Three little pearls on some of the snowflakes, and even though you can't see it, I brushed on some Wink of Stella in different areas. QACAS.
This next card is very CAS, and will go into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, as well as the Muse.

Here's the card:
The ever fabulous Laurie Willison is our inspiration this week, and what a treat for a card she's made. I'm sure you'd all agree. Since this is my second card for the Muse, I decided to go in a different direction than my first...to a degree anyway. No pretty greens like Laurie's card, but I did try to keep to her overall design. After it say on my desk for a day or two, I tried adding some stars, and more enamel dots. Just didn't look right, so I left it alone. That's some washi tape across the bottom, and a hand drawn line in black with one MME black enamel dot. PTI's birthday die cut out of a red scrap, and LF masked sentiment. That's it. EZPZ. Love those kinds of cards don't you? Happy dances everyone
These are both great! Love your take on both the inspiration photo and Laurie's card!
ReplyDeleteWhat great placement of the snowflakes, Bev! They are just dancing across the front of your card. Love your CAS birthday card too : )
ReplyDeleteThese are both CAS-tastic! Love the softly falling snowflakes on the first card, and the bold statement of the washi tape on #2! Hope you find a little time for crafting during your busy day!
ReplyDeleteTwo very different cards and both of the are great. I love the aqua snowflakes, and the bright striped washi tape that I thought was paper - and could be if I decide to CASE this.
ReplyDeleteI really can picture a beach cottage in winter - that is my fav time to head to our cabin!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors! I love the 'schmeared' technique on the background paper! The sentiment ink color is perfect - love how you snuggled it between the snowflakes!
Oh yeah...winner, winner! That bright striped washi border with the one wee brad and fine black line is stunningly simple and super effective! Awesome sentiment treatment too!
ReplyDeleteBev, I know what you mean there is always so much more to do in a day that there are hours in a day, we as crafters need to figure out a way to make it happen, but the extra hours are only for the fun stuff! Your cards are so fun and I with Geri and calling your Muse card a winner!
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect card for our challenge!! So glad you could play along with us at CCCB!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter cards for both challenges. I like your idea of a winter beach cottage!
ReplyDeleteAhh-mazing cards! Love the turquoise snowflakes (beach cottage in winter..sighhh), and the sentiment colour/placement couldn't be more eye-catching and perfect! Your MUSE take: WOW! Bright, bold, striking! I'm with Geri: winner, winner!! Fabulous cards from a most fabulous crafter! Hugs!!

Both such gorgeous cards. Love them
ReplyDeleteOooh, Bev, you've created such an amazing take on that gorgeous inspiration photo ... your cascading snowflakes are a delight! Love your bold, vibrant and fun birthday version of Laurie's Muse card ... perfect solo dot! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWell it may not be OLW, but it's so pretty - I love the ink on the kraft cardbase, I would never have thought of that - and it's a wonderful colour combination. And I love your colourful version of this week's Muse!
ReplyDeleteTotally fun, thanks for playing along with us at CCCB!
ReplyDeleteBoth of this card are quite wonderful. I also love the inspiration of the first card and how you used it. The second card is so fun and happy and bright. I love it!
ReplyDeleteBeach cottage in winter? Yep, totally. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteBoth your cards are so wonderful, I agree with you on the White Rabbit thing.... within a breath it will be the holiday season, yikes!
ReplyDeleteEZPZ are my fave, Bevie! Your MUSE make is enchanting and I can see why you didn't add anything more ~ it's perfection!!
ReplyDeleteI really like your snowflake card, too! I thought it was a OLC because I thought the kraft was in the background and the card was white. If that makes any sense. It's CASlicious either way and it sounds like the shimmery kraft is very cool!
Have a great week free of YKWs! Hugs, Darnell
So Clean and simple and BEAUTIFUL! Love your cards!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of both of these cards, Bev! The colors on that first one are so calming!!! The second one is so bright and happy...makes me smile! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope things are calming down for you a bit by now! Hugs!
Both lovely cards, the snowflakes are beautiful and I love the stunning colour scheme on your birthday card!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
