Scrappin' the stash

I'm finding myself amazed at how much stuff I have in my craft room. Now, it's my own policy to recycle my clothes to Goodwill if, after 2 years I haven't worn something. Not so much with the paper crafting supplies. After thinking hard about the challenge over at CASual Fridays, and coming up with several small pings which I wasn't thrilled with, I slept on it. Then this morning, I had a bigger ping. The idea for this card just popped into my head. So glad it did. I scrapped my stash. Lately I've been trying to find and use things that have been taking up space carefully saved. In my big ol' box of rub-ons, I found exactly what I wanted. Gotta love it when that happens!

Being a scrapbooker, I don't have any problem not using stamps. I used rub-ons. Yep. Whatcha think?

I thought about coloring the poppies a bit, but loved the look of black and white. I really like this card. It only took a couple of minutes to make. Beside the SU white cardstock base, the poppy rub-ons are from American Crafts, and the sentiment is from Cloud nine. That's it. Can you believe it? Happy dances.

  2. Beautiful in black and white (but my fingers are itching and I would NOT have been able to leave those flowers without colouring them in!)

  3. Beautiful, elegant.... I love the simplicity of this card. I didn't realize it was rub-ons until I read your post.... wouldn't it be great to have this as a stamp tho? Such a pretty image regardless!

  4. I agree too, no problem not using stamps ... and it's not just you that loves it when your carefully saved stash gets used, my friend ... I love it too! This is just beautifully stunning ... the simple black and white so maintains the delicacy of the poppies! Anita :)
